Director Lieutenant Tony Giorgio Has  served as the Founder ,Conductor and Director of the Police Band since 1991. Lt. Giorgio ia a graduate of C.W. Post College and holds a A.A., B.F.A., &  M.S., in secondary Education. Lt. Giorgio's musical training includes studies with Charlie Perry, Jack DeJohnette and Ron Gould. He also trained as an Assistant Conductor with Alexander Dashnaw, Gregg Smith and George Seuffert. He has been a member of the New York City Police Department since 1983. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1987 and Lieutenant in 1997 . In 1996  Lt. Giorgio was awarded the New York City Police Foundations' Hemmerdinger award for Excellence ,recognizing outstanding contributions to Police Services in New York City. Lt. Giorgio serves as the Commanding Officer of the Police Commissioner's Ceremonial Unit. Lt. Giorgio is also a graduate of the National Academy of the F.B.I. in Quantico, Virginia.
